Musicians of the VTG Lindwurm

Who we are and what we do:

Many years ago I took my harmonica and went to a rehearsal of the folk dance group Lindwurm in Klagenfurt to play when they dance. In the first years the people who have acoompanied my playing have changed but now I have found reliable musicians who share my loneliness and of course my stage fright during our performances. This is the short history of the "Musicians of the VTG Lindwurm" under the guidance of Barbara Oswald.

The other musicians:

An important person of this music group is Doris Hackl. She is also playing the styrian harmonica either alone or together with Barbara Oswald. She plays the melody or accompaniment - both with much engagement.

Not always but often Andrea Gross, an excellent guitar teacher, accompanies us with her perfect sound. She does not need many rehearsals, every chord and every sound of the bass are well. As she is very busy there are some other guitar players.

Heidi Klötzer is kindergarden teacher and mother of a son, Hannes. She is also playing the guitar.

Angelika Donsa has two children and her instrument is the guitar as well.

The most difficult part in our music group has Elisabeth Gross: Playing the chopping-board is not the problem, but it always takes much time to tune her instrument before the performances. While the others pass their time with going for a walk she is in a small room turning on the strings.

What's about the men?

Yes, there is one. It is Thomas Guggenberger, the most important person with his clarinet who gives us the entry. His place is near the harmonica, which is playing the first voice and so he starts sweaping when Doris and Barbara change playing melody and accompaniment. Sometimes his brother Georg reinforces our music with his bass or a trombone. He is excellent on his instruments and with much power and energy he helps rounding off the sound.

We are all musicians who like music and dance. We are not professionell, perfect musicians but it is our aim to please our audience. They should enjoy the performances of the dancer of our folk dance group and its musicians.
